DEVELOPER (BOTAFOGO - RIO DE JANEIRO)

The Analyst will develop web based applications based on Java technologies. They must be a proficient Java developer with experience developing MVC template based web applications. Specific experience with Struts and Velocity is highly desirable. A solid understanding of internationalization is required. They must have a history of delivering projects on schedule. The Analyst should be able to work independently on assigned tasks and be comfortable with both the development of new applications, and the maintenance and extension of existing applications. They should be comfortable working closely with members of the Product team regarding product definition and requirements. They must be comfortable developing based on an Ant driven build and deployment environment. They should be familiar with the fundamental rules and practices of XP development. The Analyst must be comfortable working in an exciting fast paced startup environment with high visibility to the projects they work on. The Analyst will be expected to keep abreast of new technologies available in both the open source and commercial arena. They must have a solid grasp of the English language and be comfortable communicating both verbally and written.

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree (BS or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years Java development experience
- 2+ years MVC based web application development experience
- 2+ years XML and related technologies experience
- 1+ JavaScript experience
- 1+ year experience developing internationalized Java applications
- Previous experience working in a fast paced startup environment
- Demonstrable understanding of XP rules and practices.
